China has expressed deep concern over the escalating military tensions in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, the disputed territory between Pakistan and India.
In a statement carried by the official Xinhua News Agency, China's Foreign Ministry urged both Pakistan and India to exercise restraint and avoid any actions that could further escalate the situation. The statement emphasized that maintaining regional peace and stability must remain the top priority.
The ministry noted that Pakistan and India are not only neighbors to each other but also share borders with China. It reaffirmed Beijing's opposition to all forms of terrorism.

At a regular press briefing today, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated that Beijing stands ready to work with the international community to play a constructive role in easing current tensions.

The developments follow Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong's meeting with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari last Sunday, where the two discussed bilateral relations and their comprehensive strategic partnership. Pakistani authorities reported that India conducted airstrikes in Pakistan-administered Kashmir earlier today. The Indian Defense Ministry confirmed its armed forces had targeted what it described as "terrorist infrastructure" across nine locations.
