Her Excellency Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of Public Works, announced on Thursday the start of comprehensive rehabilitation works on the Kuwait-bound lanes of Fahaheel Expressway. This project is part of new maintenance contracts covering 18 road development initiatives across all six governorates, supporting Kuwait's "New Kuwait 2035" vision.
Dr. Al-Mashaan emphasized the ministry's commitment to highest quality standards in executing these projects as part of a comprehensive plan to modernize Kuwait's road network.
Engineer Sultan Al-Otaibi, Deputy Supervisor for Fahaheel Expressway and King Fahd Road, confirmed ministry teams are already onsite to monitor progress of these full-depth road rehabilitation works.
Scope: Includes ground stabilization and asphalt layer replacement
Public Advisory: Motorists are urged to follow General Traffic Department updates for upcoming road closures to avoid congestion
"These works represent our strategic approach to infrastructure development – not just repairs, but complete transformations," stated Dr. Al-Mashaan during the press briefing.
Why This Matters:
The Fahaheel Expressway handles over 250,000 vehicles daily, making its rehabilitation critical for:
✓ Enhanced road safety
✓ Improved traffic flow
✓ Long-term infrastructure sustainability
