The Kuwaiti women's beach volleyball team claimed fifth place on Thursday, concluding their participation in the inaugural West Asia Beach Volleyball Tour (men's and women's competitions) held in Doha.
The women's team achieved this ranking after their first squad - players Halima Abdullah and Munira Yousif - defeated Qatar 2-0, while the second team of Alghadeer Alsayegh and Dana Mansour fell to Jordan by the same score. In the youth category, Kuwait lost all matches against Qatar and Saudi Arabia, exiting at the group stage.
Team manager Essa Al-Saleem told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that participation provided "valuable international exposure and experience" ahead of upcoming tournaments. He expressed satisfaction with the women's performance given strong competition from teams like Jordan and Lebanon.
The Kuwaiti delegation includes players Ibrahim Diaa, Nawaf Talib, Nawaf Talal, Jassim Al-Sabbagh, Halima Abdullah, Munira Yousif, Alghadeer Alsayegh, and Dana Mansour, coached by Ahmed Abdulrazzaq with administrative manager Amal Al-Faraj.
The West Asia Beach Volleyball Tour for youth and women began Wednesday and continues through the 10th of this month, featuring 19 teams from seven Arab nations: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, and host Qatar.
