Oman Petroleum & Energy Conference and Oman Sustainability Week Kick Off with Kuwaiti Participation..

In a speech delivered on the occasion, Omani Minister of Energy and Minerals, Salim Al Aufi, stated that as part of efforts to integrate initiatives and enhance efficiency, the Energy and Petroleum Conference has been unified under the umbrella of Oman Sustainability Week to serve as an annual comprehensive platform reflecting the Sultanate’s commitment to sustainable oil and gas production and keeping pace with the transition to clean energy.

Minister Al Aufi added that Oman Sustainability Week will include sessions focusing on emerging sustainability practices, pioneering innovations, and circular economy strategies, providing participants with practical insights to keep up with the evolving global sustainability landscape.

He explained that the exhibition will highlight topics such as energy transition, renewable integration, digitalization of operations, and the future of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Oman, with the participation of global CEOs, senior government leaders, and energy sector pioneers.

In a related context, **Minister Al Aufi announced the launch of the Oman Center for Net Zero, which will oversee the implementation of the national strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and adopt best practices and technologies in this field, in line with the country’s commitment to sustainability and emissions reduction.

He also noted that among Oman’s sustainable transport initiatives, the number of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in the Sultanate has exceeded 180 in a short period, reflecting the growth of infrastructure and market readiness for the shift toward electric vehicles.

The three-day event is expected to attract over 30,000 visitors from more than 50 countries, with participation from over 350 exhibiting companies across diverse sectors, highlighting Oman’s growing position as a hub for international dialogue on energy and sustainability.
