The Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) affirmed on Tuesday the significant growth in trade relations with the Republic of Maldives, noting a substantial increase in Kuwaiti exports to the Maldivian islands over the past decade.
The Chamber made the announcement in a press statement during its reception of a high-level delegation from the Maldives, led by Maldivian Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullah Khalil and accompanied by a number of business leaders. KCCI stated that the visit underscores the strengthening bilateral ties, which are built on mutual friendship, respect, and shared aspirations for economic and cultural cooperation.
KCCI highlighted that the partnership between the two countries is reinforced by their complementary strengths. Maldivian companies excel in tourism and marine industries, attracting interest from Kuwaiti investors, while Kuwaiti firms lead in finance, logistics, healthcare, and energy. These synergies, the Chamber emphasized, present significant opportunities for joint investment and collaboration.
For his part, Dr. Khalil outlined key investment opportunities in tourism, alternative energy, logistics, ports, housing projects, agriculture, and fisheries, inviting Kuwaiti businesses to explore mutually beneficial ventures.
