Kuwait Volleyball Federation Cup (2024–2025) Kicks Off Tomorrow with Quarter-Final Matches

The Kuwait Volleyball Federation Cup (General Category) for the 2024–2025 season begins tomorrow, Thursday, with two quarter-final matches: defending champions Kazma Club will face Al-Salibikhaet, while Al-Shabab takes on Al-Nasr. The matches will be held at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Indoor Sports Hall.

Federation Officials Highlight Strong Competition & Fan Role

In a statement to KUNA (Kuwait News Agency) on WednesdayDr. Jaber Al-Marri, President of the Kuwait Volleyball Federation, emphasized the tournament’s unique appeal, noting:
"The Federation Cup has its own prestige and intense competition, as it follows a knockout format—meaning teams play fewer matches than in the league to advance deep into the tournament, or even win it. This motivates them to compete fiercely."

He added:
"The overall level of clubs has risen recently, peaking as teams have just concluded the league season. This promises a strong title race, which will reflect in the intensity and excitement of the matches for both live and watching audiences."

Al-Marri also called on fans to pack the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Hall to support their teams, stating:
"Fans are the driving force behind any sport, especially with the Federation’s major efforts to elevate volleyball and boost its prominence in Kuwait."

Deputy Secretary-General Praises Preparations

In a similar statement to KUNANaif Al-Khameeli, Assistant Secretary-General of the Kuwait Volleyball Federation, confirmed:
"Preparations for the tournament have gone smoothly, from the team draws to media arrangements. We hope for a competitive tournament, mirroring this season’s intense domestic league."
