The Arab League emphasized today, Tuesday, the significance of the ongoing 66th session of the Committee for Unifying Military Terms and Concepts in Cairo, highlighting its crucial role in enhancing joint Arab military cooperation, particularly in multinational military exercises among Arab states.
In a press statement, Tarek Abdelsalam, Director of the Military Department at the League's Arab Affairs and National Security Sector, stated that the committee's meeting—which began last Sunday—aims to conduct a comprehensive review of previously approved military terms, concepts, symbols, and abbreviations from past seminars.
Abdelsalam stressed the importance of standardizing military terminology and incorporating it into the "Updated Lexicon", which includes all military concepts, terms, symbols, and abbreviations used in Arab armed forces up to 2024. He noted that this unified terminology will facilitate joint operations and exercises, strengthen collective Arab military action, and align military doctrines across Arab nations.
The meeting, which continues until 28 May, includes military officers from 16 Arab countries, including Kuwait, represented by a delegation headed by Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Khamees, Director of Joint Education at the Military Higher Education Authority.
