His remarks came during a panel discussion titled "Doing Global Business in Turbulent Times" at the Qatar Economic Forum in Doha, with the participation of Hanadi Al-Saleh, Chairwoman of Agility, and Le Thi Thu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of Vietnam’s VinGroup.
Al-Khorayef emphasized that Saudi Arabia has been working for years on its automotive industry as part of Vision 2030, benefiting from its advanced infrastructure and logistics services. He noted that the Kingdom is the largest exporter of cars without local manufacturing and that betting on electric vehicles (EVs) demonstrates Saudi Arabia’s forward-thinking approach.
He also highlighted key opportunities for investment in the mining sector, stating that Saudi Arabia now has one of the best investment frameworks for mining. The world, he added, is in a race against time to secure sufficient supplies of critical minerals. To address this, Saudi Arabia launched the International Mining Conference as a platform bringing together global mining leaders, government and private entities, financial institutions, academia, and technology providers to accelerate mineral exploration, boost investments, and enhance supply chain integration.
For her part, Hanadi Al-Saleh, Chairwoman of Agility, stressed the importance of investing in companies that span the entire production and trade supply chains—not just for cost efficiency and competitiveness but also for national and regional security and sovereignty, which changes the dynamics.
She pointed out that applying AI in supply chains can increase profitability by reducing costs by up to 20%, emphasizing the need for awareness of this potential.
Meanwhile, Le Thi Thu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of VinGroup, discussed her work in the EV sector, noting the 25% additional U.S. tariffs imposed on imports. She highlighted the importance of navigating political uncertainty, interest rates, and maintaining flexibility to drive progress.
