An official delegation from the State of Kuwait is participating in the International COSPAS-SARSAT Search and Rescue Conference held in Abu Dhabi. The four-day event, concluding this Friday, includes representatives from 47 countries worldwide.
The Kuwaiti Directorate General of Civil Aviation (KDGCA) stated in a press release received by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that Kuwait’s participation came under the directives of Sheikh Hamoud Mubarak Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah, Chairman of the Directorate, to enhance regional and international cooperation and exchange expertise in search and rescue (SAR) services, while developing national preparedness in line with global best practices.
The Kuwaiti delegation reaffirmed the country’s commitment to enhancing its national SAR system in compliance with the recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and COSPAS-SARSAT, ensuring rapid and effective emergency response in air, maritime, and land operations.
The delegation held several coordination meetings with regional and international counterparts to discuss cooperation opportunities, knowledge exchange, and improving linkage mechanisms between national and international distress alert systems.
At the conclusion of its participation, the Kuwaiti delegation expressed gratitude to the United Arab Emirates for its exceptional hospitality and outstanding organization of this key international event. It also praised the UAE’s leading role in supporting and advancing the global SAR system, stressing the importance of continued coordination and cooperation among member states to ensure the highest levels of safety and emergency response.
