Ministry of Labour Launches "Exit Permit Request" Service for Private Sector Employees via "Sahel" Platform..

The Public Authority for Workforce announced today, Thursday, the launch of two new electronic services through the government's unified digital platforms:

  1. Employee Exit Permit Request Service (under Article 18) via the Sahel government services application

  2. Employer Approval Service via the Sahel A'amal business platform

In an official press statement, the Authority clarified:

  • The Sahel app allows employees to electronically submit exit permit requests to their employers

  • The Sahel A'amal platform enables employers to review and approve these exit requests

Implementation Background:
This digital transformation comes in implementation of yesterday's circular issued by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al-Sabah, which:

  • Mandates all expatriate workers in the private sector to obtain exit permits from employers

  • Takes effect beginning July 1st

  • Aims to streamline workforce mobility procedures
