Egyptian Ministry of Aviation: Airspace is safe and operating normally..

The Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation announced today that its airspace remains secure and fully operational, with flight movements proceeding normally in compliance with the highest international aviation safety standards.

In an official press release, the Ministry stated that in light of current regional tensions and escalating developments, three flights bound for Baghdad, Amman, and Beirut have been canceled until the airspace of these countries reopens.

The Ministry further confirmed that its main operations center at Cairo International Airport is monitoring developments around the clock in full coordination with civil aviation authorities in neighboring countries. This follows temporary airspace closures announced by some regional states due to the current situation.

In response, Cairo International Airport and all Egyptian airports have been placed on maximum alert in preparation for potential diversions of transiting aircraft that may require emergency landings due to regional airspace restrictions. Full technical and logistical support has been assured for all affected flights.

The Ministry noted that Cairo International Airport has already received nine foreign airline aircraft in rapid succession for refueling after their flight paths were adjusted due to neighboring airspace closures.

Background:
The statement comes after Israeli occupation forces announced today the launch of "Rising Lion" – an operation targeting Iran with five waves of airstrikes against Tehran's nuclear program and long-range missile capabilities. Iran has vowed a "decisive response" to these attacks.

Key Operational Details:

  • Airspace status: Secure and fully operational

  • Canceled routes: Baghdad, Amman, Beirut

  • Emergency protocols: Maximum readiness at all Egyptian airports

  • Current activity: Handling diverted international flights

  • Coordination: Ongoing with regional aviation authorities

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining aviation safety while accommodating regional operational contingencies. Further updates will be issued through official channels as the situation develops.
