Today, Sunday, Spanish football club Real Madrid defeated Mexico's Pachuca (3-1) in a Group (H) match during the FIFA Club World Cup group stage, held in the USA at Bank of America Stadium.
Pachuca started aggressively from the kickoff, posing more danger to their opponent's goal. Real Madrid’s defender Raúl Asencio was sent off in the 7th minute after fouling a Mexican striker who was through on goal.
Despite being a man down, the Spanish side took the lead with two first-half goals: Jude Bellingham scored in the 35th minute following a well-organized attack, and Arda Güler added another in the 43rd minute.
In the second half, Federico Valverde extended Real Madrid’s lead with a third goal in the 70th minute. Pachuca managed to pull one back in the 80th minute thanks to Elias Montiel, but it wasn’t enough for a comeback.
Group (H) also includes Al-Hilal (Saudi Arabia) and Red Bull Salzburg (Austria) alongside Real Madrid and Pachuca.
