The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait's sympathy with the Republic of Sudan regarding the gold mine collapse incident in the Howaid area of northern Sudan, which resulted in multiple worker fatalities and injuries.

In an official statement released Monday, the Ministry conveyed Kuwait's sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the victims' families, the government of Sudan, and its brotherly people. Kuwait affirmed its full solidarity with Sudan during this painful tragedy and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

This follows Sunday's announcement by the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company of at least 11 fatalities and 7 injuries caused by the collapse of an unregulated gold mining shaft in the Nile River state, northern Sudan.
