The Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT) has announced the opening of applications for participation in the 6th edition of the Digital Government Award for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Wednesday, Acting Director General of CAIT, Najat Ibrahim, said: "The award aims to honor outstanding achievements in digital transformation across GCC nations."
Ibrahim added that submissions will be accepted through the website awards.cait.gov.kw from the beginning of July until August 31, noting that the award serves as a leading platform to foster competition and innovation among government entities in digital transformation.
She highlighted that the award includes nine main categories covering various aspects of digital transformation, most notably:
Best Digital Government Service
Best Use of Artificial Intelligence
Best Open Data Initiative
Best Digital Inclusion Initiative
Best Digital Community Engagement
The award also features categories for:
Best Comprehensive Government Application
Best Purpose-Driven Digital Game
Best Government Capacity-Building Initiative
Digital Excellence Award for Government Institutions
This reflects the award’s comprehensive diversity and its support for various paths of digital excellence.
Ibrahim emphasized that the award aligns with GCC-wide efforts to enhance digital cooperation, improve government readiness for future demands, and achieve sustainable digital development goals across the GCC.
She urged participating entities from GCC countries to submit their entries through their designated national liaison officers to ensure an organized and consistent application process among member states.
