The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, stated on Friday that Russia is responding to peace initiatives with missile attacks, emphasizing that Moscow's intensified strikes on Ukraine's capital Kyiv demonstrate "clear proof that Moscow has no desire for peace."

In a post on platform X, Kallas added: "Every time the world extends a hand for peace, (Russian President Vladimir) Putin responds with missiles."

The European official noted that air defense systems and missiles are "in short supply everywhere," but stressed that "Ukraine urgently needs them now - every single day - to protect its people."
