Dr. Hamoud Al-Zaabi, Director of the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Prevention and Control Department at the Ministry of Health, emphasized the critical importance of public awareness campaigns in combating chronic diseases, reducing their prevalence, and addressing associated risk factors during his opening remarks at Kuwait's "NCD Awareness Day" this Wednesday.

Speaking at the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations under the patronage of Health Minister Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, Dr. Al-Zaabi outlined the campaign's focus on educating the public about NCDs and their primary risk factors - particularly physical inactivity, unhealthy nutrition, and tobacco use.
