The Kuwait Municipality confirmed on Thursday the continuation of its field inspection campaigns targeting storage sites and safety measures across all six governorates to verify compliance with relevant regulations and licensing requirements.
Strict Enforcement of Licensing Rules
Mohammed Al-Muwaizri, head of the Farwaniya Municipality team, emphasized to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) the importance of obtaining all necessary permits before commencing construction work to avoid violations and warnings. He stressed that these field inspections aim to ensure compliance with safety regulations in residential, investment, and commercial buildings, as well as storage sites.
Purpose of Storage Permits
Al-Muwaizri explained that storage permits—which allow construction materials to be stored on-site—are required to prevent unauthorized use of state land, protect public and private property, and avoid damage to neighboring homes, as well as human and material losses.
Violation Procedures
He noted that the Municipality first issues warnings to violators who fail to obtain permits. If non-compliance continues, daily fines are imposed per square meter until the violation is resolved. The Municipality particularly emphasizes safety requirements, such as proper site fencing, to prevent construction hazards.
Today's Inspection Results
During today's field inspection in Farwaniya, the team issued three safety violation warnings, nine compliance notices, and recorded seven field reports.
Zero Tolerance Policy
Al-Muwaizri stressed that municipal inspection teams will strictly enforce storage regulations and monitor compliance with all established controls.
Call for Compliance
He urged all parties to adhere to municipal laws and regulations, noting that safety departments across all governorates are intensifying field campaigns to ensure full implementation of Kuwait Municipality's rules.
