Palestinian Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh called on the international community on Saturday to take action to stop the Israeli occupation's war of starvation against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Al-Sheikh said in a post on the social media platform X that the Palestinian leadership had sent urgent messages to the countries of the world and their leaders, demanding that they take serious and immediate action to stop the genocide of starvation being perpetrated against the Palestinian people and killing children in the Gaza Strip. He added, “Shame haunts the silent human conscience over what is happening. This war must be stopped immediately and the Palestinian people must be saved.” For their part, health authorities in the Gaza Strip said in a statement that “unprecedented numbers of starving Palestinians” of all ages are arriving at emergency rooms in a state of severe exhaustion and fatigue. They warned that hundreds of emaciated people would be at risk of certain death as a result of starvation and their bodies' inability to withstand the conditions. Earlier today, Palestinian sources reported that 25 Palestinians were killed and 70 others were wounded by Israeli occupation forces near a humanitarian aid distribution center north of the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
