The Turkish news agency İhlas reported that wildfires spreading through Bursa have reached several neighborhoods, prompting emergency intervention by authorities.
Strong southerly winds hitting Bursa this evening caused alarm as they ignited fires in two separate locations, with firefighting teams continuing their efforts under challenging weather conditions.
All emergency units in Bursa have been mobilized to combat the fire outbreak, with multiple firefighting teams deployed to the area. Aerial support has been initiated to assist ground operations, including water-dropping helicopters and firefighting planes dispatched to the scene. Authorities confirmed that firefighting efforts at both locations continue uninterrupted.
The Greater Bursa Municipality issued a statement announcing: "Due to the continuing spread of the forest fire, we've ordered the evacuation of Karahidir neighborhood in Gürsu district. Buses have been deployed to assist citizens, and Bursa Municipal Sports Complex has been prepared to receive fire-affected residents."
