A Kuwaiti relief plane took off for Sudan carrying 40 tons of diverse aid supplies..

On Monday, a Kuwaiti relief aircraft departed from Abdullah Al-Mubarak Air Base to Port Sudan International Airport, carrying 40 tons of diverse humanitarian supplies. This mission is part of the "Kuwait By Your Side" campaign, organized by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) in cooperation with the Ministries of Social Affairs, Foreign Affairs, and Defense—represented by the Kuwait Air Force—to assist the most vulnerable communities in Sudan.

Statements from Kuwait Red Crescent Society:

Eng. Khaled Al-Mugames, Chairman of KRCS and retired ambassador, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) before takeoff:

  • "This aircraft carries food supplies, shelter materials, and transportation equipment, including five tons of wheat produced by the Kuwait Army Reserve (Muhmiyat Al-Jaish Al-Kuwaiti)."

  • "The dispatch of this aid reflects Kuwait’s commitment to active participation in humanitarian efforts to support our brothers in Sudan amid their ongoing hardships."

  • "KRCS is coordinating directly with the Sudanese Red Crescent to ensure the delivery and supervised distribution of aid."

Kuwait’s Humanitarian Leadership:

Al-Mugames emphasized:

  • The initiative underscores the fraternal ties between the two brotherly nations and Kuwait’s pioneering humanitarian role in aiding disaster and crisis victims.

  • He expressed gratitude to the Ministries of Social Affairs, Foreign Affairs, and Defense, as well as donors, for their pivotal contributions to this mission, which reflects Kuwait’s steadfast commitment to supporting sisterly and friendly nations in times of adversity.

Continued Support from Kuwait’s Leadership:

He affirmed:

  • "Under the direct guidance of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Kuwait will continue providing relief and shelter assistance to our Sudanese brothers."
