His Excellency Minister of Education Mr. Jalal Al-Tabtabaei congratulated Kuwait’s students for their outstanding achievement at the 10th Arab Chemistry Olympiad, held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The minister made a congratulatory phone call to the winning team as soon as they arrived back in Kuwait.
In a statement, the Ministry of Education announced that Acting Undersecretary Eng. Mohammed Al-Khaldi welcomed the students at Kuwait International Airport’s VIP lounge yesterday evening. The Kuwaiti team, consisting of four outstanding students, participated in the competition and secured four medals—one silver and three bronze.
Minister Al-Tabtabaei expressed his pride and admiration for the team’s accomplishment, emphasizing that this success reflects the dedication of the students, the guidance of their teachers and supervisors, and the unwavering support of parents. He also highlighted the ministry’s commitment and the political leadership’s encouragement of gifted students.
The minister wished the students continued success in future international competitions, praising their perseverance and determination during the Olympiad.
Acting Undersecretary Mohammed Al-Khaldi commended the students and their trainers for this remarkable achievement, congratulating them on bringing pride to Kuwait. He encouraged them to continue excelling and raising Kuwait’s flag high in global academic forums, while also thanking their parents for their continuous support.
Dalal Al-Massoud, the General Technical Supervisor for Sciences, stated that Kuwait takes great pride in this accomplishment, which showcases the students’ scientific excellence. She attributed the team’s success to intensive training, continuous efforts, and the strong support from the Kuwait Science Club, which provided laboratory facilities for practical training.
Al-Massoud also praised the critical role of technical supervisors, educators, and parents, stressing that this collective effort was pivotal in securing the medals. She expressed hope for even greater achievements in future competitions.
Ali Behbehani, a student from the Gifted Students Academy and silver medalist, dedicated his achievement to Kuwait, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. He also thanked the General Science Supervision, the Chemistry Department, and his teachers for their support.
"I was honored by the minister’s call right after our arrival—it motivated us to strive for even greater success in international competitions," he said.
Hala Al-Rashidi, a bronze medalist, expressed her pride in ranking third among 11 competing countries, describing the experience as enriching and full of friendly competition.
"We learned from different cultures, teaching methods, and gained new skills through collaboration," she added.
Ibrahim Al-Rashidi, another bronze medalist, said: "The competition was intense, but the ministry’s rigorous training prepared us well, allowing us to compete with confidence."
Zahra Al-Haddad emphasized that participating in such events is a unique opportunity to compete with students from various countries, expressing her ambition to win gold in future Olympiads.
The 10th Arab Chemistry Olympiad was organized under the patronage of the participating countries’ Ministries of Education, with supervision from the Arab Chemical Federation and the host country’s Chemical Society.
This achievement underscores Kuwait’s growing presence in international academic competitions, reflecting the nation’s commitment to nurturing scientific talent and excellence.
