The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned today the provocative settlement incursion conducted yesterday by Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu into the illegal Ofra settlement in the occupied West Bank.
In an official statement, the Ministry also denounced Netanyahu's remarks regarding what he called "holding onto the land," boasting about his role in rejecting Palestinian statehood and obstructing its realization. The Ministry characterized these statements as perpetuating a racist, replacement-oriented settlement occupation that constitutes another link in the chain of genocide, displacement, and annexation crimes.
The statement warned that such rhetoric "provides cover and encouragement for settler terrorist elements to commit further attacks against Palestinian citizens, their lands, and properties," while showing contempt for international reactions to settlement expansion and settler crimes. It further accused Israeli officials of deliberately maintaining a cycle of violence and wars.
The Foreign Ministry called upon nations and the international community to treat with utmost seriousness the annexation calls voiced by ministers in the occupation government, its prime minister, members of the ruling Likud party, and so-called settlement council leaders.
It specifically urged:
Increased recognition of the State of Palestine
Full UN membership for Palestine
Escalated European and international measures to protect the two-state solution
Comprehensive sanctions against the entire colonial occupation system
Immediate international pressure to:
Stop genocide, starvation policies, and displacement
Implement the New York Declaration without delay
