The White House: We are discussing the ceasefire proposal that (Hamas) has agreed to..

The White House confirmed on Tuesday that the United States is discussing the proposal put forward by mediators for a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza. This would involve the exchange of a number of prisoners, the repositioning of Israeli occupation forces, and the intensification of humanitarian aid entry, according to the terms of the agreement that the Palestinian movement Hamas has agreed to.

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said in a press briefing, "Regarding this proposal that Hamas has accepted, the United States is still discussing it, and I will leave it to President [Trump] to give his final opinion on it."

Earlier in the day, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the Palestinian Hamas movement had informed the mediators of its agreement to the new proposal for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Majed Al-Ansari, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated during the Ministry's weekly media briefing that Hamas's response was very positive and largely aligns with what was previously agreed upon by the Israeli occupation. However, the mediators are still awaiting the official response from the occupation.

Al-Ansari indicated that the mediation is still in the stage of exchanging responses and that the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, is in direct contact with U.S. Envoy Steve Witkof. He noted that the language of the proposed text was drafted by the American side in a previous vision, confirming that there is daily and direct engagement between the State of Qatar and the U.S. administration to push the negotiations forward.
