On Saturday, the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring, affiliated with the Iraqi Ministry of Transport, announced the recording of a 3.2-magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale south of Erbil province in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, with no casualties reported.
In a statement, the authority mentioned that the earthquake occurred in an area approximately 70 kilometers south of Erbil and was felt by residents near the epicenter.
According to the authority's monthly report, the total number of earthquakes recorded by the Iraqi seismic monitoring network in July reached 38, with 17 of them occurring inside Iraq.
Seismic activity was notably concentrated within Iraq, particularly in the provinces of Sulaymaniyah, Duhok, and Erbil.
