The first foldable iPhone to arrive next year with four cameras and a modem developed by Apple..

Apple is moving with calculated steps towards entering the foldable phone market, after years of waiting and speculation. Recent leaks have revealed preliminary details regarding this expected device, which will be released in 2026. This phone is expected to represent a quantum leap in the company's history, both in terms of design and manufacturing technologies.

The new device comes with a design that opens like a book to reveal a large internal screen of about eight inches, making it a direct competitor to foldable devices from major Android companies.

When closed, the phone will turn into a traditional device with a front screen of between five and six inches, allowing the user to switch between the two modes with ease.

Four multi-purpose

cameras Apple is working on equipping the phone with four cameras, distributed in different places of design to meet all scenarios. The device includes a front camera on the external screen, and another dedicated to the internal mode when the phone is opened, along with two cameras on the back.

Expectations are that the rear main camera will feature high resolution to provide the best image quality, while the second camera will be geared for wide-angle shooting or optical zoom, and the final details on these specifications are not yet clear. This variety of lenses enhances the practicality of the foldable device and gives it additional flexibility in use.

The return of fingerprint

recognition technology Apple is moving to use the fingerprint sensor via a side button instead of relying on the Face ID feature.

This thickness makes the device thinner than any previous iPhone, but it doesn't allow for the installation of the complex camera system of the Face ID feature.

Cellular modem developed by Apple

The foldable phone is based on Apple's C2 modem, which is the second generation after the C1 modem that debuted in the iPhone 16e.
