The Turkish Parliament calls for the suspension of the occupying Israeli entity's membership in the United Nations..

On Friday, the Turkish Parliament approved a memorandum submitted by its presidency calling for the suspension of the occupying Israeli entity's membership in the United Nations and all international organizations until it ceases its policies of extermination in Gaza.

During an emergency parliamentary session to discuss the Israeli aggression on Gaza, the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Numan Kurtulmuş, stated that "the proposed memorandum is an extremely powerful document that reflects Turkey's official stance to the world." He noted that the leaders of the Turkish parliamentary blocs had signed the memorandum, and "by publishing it in the Official Gazette, it will acquire the status of a state policy document."

The memorandum approved by the Turkish Parliament emphasized that the occupation has deliberately imposed starvation and poverty on the Palestinians in Gaza, as confirmed by United Nations reports and international organizations. It also highlighted that the occupation continues its massacres in Gaza by expanding its aggression, having killed over 70,000 people in Gaza over the past two years, most of them children and women, in addition to injuring more than 150,000 people and causing widespread destruction of civilian infrastructure.

The memorandum pointed out that Palestinians in Gaza, Jerusalem, and the West Bank are facing escalating policies of violence, displacement, and illegal settlement amid the silence of major international institutions, with the exception of the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court.

It also called for ensuring the continuous flow of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and holding Israeli officials accountable for war crimes and genocide before international courts.

The memorandum reaffirmed its support for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders as the only way to achieve a just and lasting peace.

During the parliamentary session, the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs announced that Turkey has completely halted trade with the occupying Israeli entity, closed its airspace to it, and emphasized his country's opposition to the plan to displace Palestinians. He also stated that Turkey does not allow Turkish ships to head to the ports of the occupying Israeli entity.
