Coinciding with the launch of its flagship vivo X300 and X300 Pro, vivo announced a new trio of devices including its Pad 5e, its Watch GT 2 smartwatch, and its new TWS 5 wireless headphones.
vivo Pad 5e
Vivo introduced the Pad 5e as a mid-range tablet option with a large 12.1-inch screen, a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, and a massive 10,000mAh battery. The device shares several specifications with the vivo Pad3 launched by the company in August 2024.
The front end comes with an IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2800 1968 pixels and a frequency of 144Hz with a 7.1:5 aspect ratio. The display supports the optional vivo Pencil3, and the Smart Touch Keyboard 5 can be added to boost productivity.
The device works with 8, 12, or 16GB of RAM, and storage between 128 and 512GB, while the battery supports 44W fast charging. The Pad 5e features an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, and runs on the OriginOS 5 interface.
The Pad 5e starts at 1,999 yuan (about $280) for the 8/128GB version, and goes up to 2,999 yuan (about $421) for the 16/512GB version, with sales available in China starting October 17.
vivo Watch GT 2
The Watch GT 2 smartwatch
comes with a 2.07-inch square AMOLED display and up to 2400 nits of brightness, with a design that is clearly inspired by the Apple Watch with the digital crown on the right side.
The watch is available in two versions: one that supports eSIM and one that supports Bluetooth only. Strangely, the eSIM version comes with a smaller battery (595 mAh), while the Bluetooth version has a larger battery (695 mAh).
