Xiaomi SU7 Ultra accident sparks controversy again over built-in door handles and difficulty in access by rescue teams..

Xiaomi recently recalled more than 100,000 electric vehicles from its models to install an OTA update that addresses a glitch in the self-driving system. The decision came after a fatal accident earlier this year on a highway in which the SU7 is believed to be operating in self-driving mode at the time of the crash.

The company was forced to carry out the recall to correct the circumstances that led to the accident, but a new incident involving the faster version of the SU7 Ultra revived controversy and led to a sharp decline in Xiaomi's shares. The car collided at high speed, causing a huge fire despite the battery's protective layer designed to withstand extreme temperatures.

Passers-by tried to intervene to rescue passengers, but failed to open the doors, as the flush handles, which usually pop up when there was electrical power, did not work, and they were unable to break the glass with kicks or hand beatings.

Unfortunately, the driver did not survive, while neither the authorities nor Xiaomi have yet to issue an official statement on the causes of the accident or the results of the ongoing investigations.
