Apple is expected to launch its first foldable phone next year, and it seems that the company has made significant progress in reducing the cost of its more complex component, the beacon.

According to renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is known for his accurate information about Apple's supply chain, the iPhone Fold hinge has become much cheaper than expected.Kuo points out that the cost of the hinge is now about $70 to $80 lower than previous market estimates. The joint venture between Foxconn and Shin Zu Shing will manufacture about 65% of the required hinges, while Amphenol will produce the remaining 35%.
