Xiaomi has announced the launch of its new Self-Install Smart Lock for global markets, a smart product designed to easily turn any ordinary lock into a smart lock. This device consists of two parts: a mechanical locking unit and an accompanying keyboard.

The new lock allows for several ways to unlock the door, such as setting a permanent or temporary password via the keypad, or using the built-in fingerprint sensor with up to 99.3% accuracy.

The lock can also be unlocked remotely through the Xiaomi smartphone app, either with voice commands or using the traditional spare key.
