OpenAI has officially launched its AI video generation app Sora for Android, in the United States, Canada, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The app was first made available for iOS on iPhones last September, topping the App Store lists in a few days, achieving more than a million downloads in the first week. Now available on the Google Play Store for Android devices, the app is expected to witness a new wave of growth in user numbers.
The Android version retains all the features of the iOS version, including the Cameos feature, which allows users to create videos in which they appear while performing various activities using their real features with the help of artificial intelligence.
These clips can be shared within a display interface similar to TikTok, enabling interaction and discovery of content from other users, in a strategic move by OpenAI to strengthen its position in the short-form video market and compete with major platforms such as Meta.
