Report.. Meta makes billions of dollars from fraudulent ads on its platforms..

A recent report by Reuters revealed that Meta generates billions of dollars in revenue annually from ads promoting fraud and illegal products across its platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, as the company faces growing criticism over its weak censorship of advertising content.

According to the documents reviewed in the report, Meta estimates that fraudulent ads account for about 10% of its total annual revenue, equivalent to about $16 billion.

These advertisements include the promotion of fake online stores, fake investment ventures, as well as prohibited medical products.

The report noted that Meta apps were involved in about one-third of successful scams in the United States alone, reflecting how widespread this phenomenon is within the company's advertising ecosystem.
