A new research note by analyst Jeff Bo suggests that the iPhone 17e will get a significant upgrade in the front camera, as it will come with the same 18-megapixel selfie camera used in the rest of the iPhone 17 family phones.

Although this camera debuted with the series itself, its rapid transition to the cheapest version in the line is an unusual move by Apple.

The new camera uses a square-shaped sensor, allowing vertical or horizontal selfies to be taken without having to rotate the phone.
