The Ministry of Education has dismissed the directors of two examination committees and a number of supervisors and observers, and referred the observed violations to an urgent administrative investigation.

In order to enhance the integrity of the examination committees' work process, consolidate the principles of fairness and equal opportunities for all students, and continue oversight efforts to ensure full compliance with the regulations and rules governing examinations, the Ministry of Education announced the dismissal of the directors of two examination committees in a secondary school, along with the dismissal of a number of supervisors and observers working in the two committees, while referring the matter to an urgent administrative investigation to determine all the circumstances of the detection of some violations and to take the necessary measures regarding them.

The Ministry of Education explained that these measures came in implementation of the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Engineer Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabai, regarding the need for close monitoring of the work of the examination committees and immediate action on any violations or irregularities that are detected, in order to ensure the application of the approved regulations and instructions firmly and to maintain the credibility of the educational process.

The Ministry of Education explained that the decision came in light of what was stated in the reports of the national observer regarding the violation of the rules of work of the examination committee, and the existence of suspicions related to practices that may contribute to facilitating the commission of violations that affect the integrity of the examinations and the procedures regulating them, which necessitated immediate intervention and taking the necessary measures to ensure the safety of the examinations and to protect the rights of students.

The ministry indicated that His Excellency Minister Al-Tabtabai directed the formation of two new administrative and supervisory teams to take over the management and follow-up of the work of the two committees as quickly as possible, and to ensure the application of all systems, regulations and instructions regulating the work of the examinations, in order to ensure the continuation of work in accordance with the approved frameworks and with the highest degrees of discipline and transparency.

The ministry added that His Excellency Minister Al-Tabtabai also issued directives to conduct a comprehensive review and audit of all the work of the two committees and the resulting results and grades, to verify the integrity of the procedures followed and the accuracy of the work completed, and to take the necessary legal and administrative measures in light of the results of the investigation.

The Ministry of Education confirmed that the field monitoring and supervision teams are continuing their work in the various examination committees during the final examination period of the second semester, to monitor any observations or violations and deal with them immediately, in order to enhance confidence in the assessment system and ensure the provision of a fair and safe examination environment for all students.

The Ministry of Education stressed that it will not tolerate any violation of the regulations and instructions governing the work of examination committees, emphasizing that the integrity of examinations, the protection of students’ rights, and the preservation of the credibility of the educational process are constant priorities that do not accept compromise, and that it will take the necessary measures against anyone who is proven to be negligent or in violation of the approved regulations.
