The Capital Inspection Department of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with the Farwaniya Governorate Investigation Department, was able to seize a warehouse in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area where tires were being cleaned and polished in preparation for being displayed and resold to consumers.The Director of the Commercial Control Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Faisal Al-Ansari, stated that the seizure came as part of the ongoing monitoring and surveillance operations conducted by the inspection teams. He emphasized the Ministry's commitment to combating any practices that could harm consumer rights or endanger their safety. He explained that the inspection teams, in cooperation with the Farwaniya Governorate Criminal Investigation Department, were able to raid the warehouse, where it was discovered that those operating it were storing, cleaning, polishing, refurbishing, and re-conditioning used tires in preparation for displaying and reselling them to consumers.He added that the raid resulted in the confiscation of 390 used car tires, along with polishing tools and equipment used for tire cleaning and refurbishment. He noted that the site was closed by the General Fire Force, and coordination was underway with Kuwait Municipality and the Environment Public Authority to take the necessary measures to dispose of the used tires according to approved procedures and requirements.Al-Ansari confirmed that an official report was filed regarding the incident, and that the necessary legal procedures are being taken against the violating warehouse and its operators, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. He emphasized that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry will continue to intensify its monitoring and inspection efforts in markets and commercial establishments, detect any violations, and take legal action against them, thereby contributing to consumer protection and ensuring the safety of products sold in the markets.
