Brent crude surpasses $100 a barrel as tensions in the region continue..

Oil prices extended their gains on Wednesday, September 9, after Iran launched new attacks on US military facilities in the Gulf region, further escalating the conflict. Brent crude futures rose more than 2% to $100 a barrel, while US crude futures climbed 1.7% to $94.59 a barrel. Brent prices have surged nearly 25% since the beginning of August as hopes for a lasting resolution to the six-month-long war have faded and fighting has intensified.
