Xiaomi has opened pre-orders in China for the Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro, the smaller versions of the Pad 9 Pro Max unveiled last week. Both tablets forgo Xiaomi's XRING O3 chipset, opting instead for Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, and feature large batteries and identical 3.2K LCD displays with a 144Hz refresh rate.

Each model uses a 3200 x 2136 LCD with a 3:2 aspect ratio, 12-bit color, DCI-P3 coverage, and support for HDR10, HDR Vivid, and Dolby Vision. Xiaomi notes that both displays have received Circadian Friendly certification, are flicker-free, and offer hardware-level blue light reduction, along with wet touch support. The Pro model boasts a peak brightness of approximately 1000 nits, compared to around 800 nits for the standard Pad 9.
