Kuwaiti Adel Al-Gharib wins the position of Vice President of the Asian Squash Federation for the 2025/2029 term..

Adel Al-Gharib, a member of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Squash Federation, has won the position of Vice President of the Asian Squash Federation for the 2025/2029 term. This came during the elections held today, Sunday, on the sidelines of the 22nd Asian Junior Championship in Hong Kong, with the presence of 27 member countries of the General Assembly.  

In a press statement, the Kuwaiti Federation quoted Al-Gharib as saying that his appointment to this position increases the responsibility on his shoulders, emphasizing the need for hard work and showcasing the development of the sport in Asia on a global level by introducing new ideas that contribute to enhancing the performance of Asian players.  

He pointed out that he will focus more on the West Asia region, which includes 13 countries, by organizing major Asian tournaments during the upcoming term.  

Al-Gharib expressed his gratitude to the Kuwaiti Federation for its significant support by approving his nomination. He also thanked all Asian countries, especially those in West Asia, which he described as the "main supporter" in the elections.  

It is worth noting that Al-Gharib has a long sports history in squash, having held numerous positions and overseen the organization of many international tournaments in Kuwait. He also participated as a player for Al-Salmiya Club and the Kuwait national team in various Gulf, Arab, and international championships, and was the champion of Kuwait and the Gulf from 1987 to 1997.
