The Minister of Education: The International Exhibition of Inventions in the Middle East reflects Kuwait's leading position in supporting creativity and innovation.

The Minister of Education, Mr. Jalal Al-Tabatabai, stated that the International Exhibition of Inventions in the Middle East is the second-largest international exhibition of inventions in the world and the largest of its kind in the Middle East, reflecting Kuwait's leading position in supporting creativity and innovation. This came in a press statement by Minister Al-Tabatabai on the sidelines of his inauguration of the 15th edition of the exhibition on Sunday evening, representing His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, may God protect him. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Science Club and Head of the Supreme Committee of the Exhibition, Mr. Talal Al-Kharafi, along with a number of ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the State of Kuwait.

Minister Al-Tabatabai expressed his pride in representing His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, may God protect him, at the opening of the exhibition, which is held under his patronage and with the support of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences. The exhibition will continue until the 19th of February. He explained that the exhibition has witnessed significant development since its inception, as the idea began when he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Science Club during 2006 and 2007, and its first edition was launched with the participation of only 12 inventors in a "small tent."

He added that "the development we are witnessing today in this event is the result of continuous efforts that have culminated in success exceeding expectations," expressing his admiration for the outstanding level of inventions, the great diversity in innovation fields, and the notable presence of representatives from Gulf, Arab, and foreign countries at the exhibition. He emphasized that this success was achieved thanks to the support of His Highness the Amir of the country, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect him, and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, may God protect him, as they place great importance on encouraging innovative projects and scientific exhibitions that serve as bridges for cooperation and strengthening relations between countries in the fields of scientific research and technology.

He praised the efforts of the Kuwait Science Club and the supporting and participating entities in sponsoring inventors and fostering a culture of creativity, wishing success to all participants and hoping that this exhibition would be a starting point towards global achievements that place Kuwait among the leading countries in innovation.

For his part, Al-Kharafi stated in a similar statement that "this exhibition is witnessing qualitative development year after year," pointing out the increase in the number of participating countries this year to 42 Arab and foreign countries, including Ecuador and Nigeria, which are participating for the first time. He added that "the exhibition is witnessing the participation of 180 inventors representing 42 countries, who have presented 230 inventions in various scientific and technical fields," expressing his happiness with this achievement and his pride in the accolades received by the Kuwait Science Club from inventors for its contribution to organizing this global scientific event.

Al-Kharafi explained that the Arab League is participating for the first time in the exhibition this year, offering a cash prize to the winners through four of its affiliated organizations: the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, and the Arab Labor Organization.

In turn, the Secretary-General of the Kuwait Science Club, Mr. Ali Al-Jumaa, stated in a similar statement that the exhibition aims to create investment opportunities for inventors by showcasing their inventions to investors and entities concerned with research and development, with the goal of transforming them into productive projects that contribute to economic development. Al-Jumaa affirmed that the Kuwait Science Club continues its role in spreading a culture of invention and protecting intellectual property rights, noting that since its launch in 2007, it has achieved an outstanding international reputation, prompting specialized international organizations to compete to participate in it, believing in its mission and goals to support innovation.


He pointed out that the exhibition also aims to encourage Kuwaiti inventors to showcase their products locally and internationally and to cooperate with government and private institutions to support their projects. Al-Jumaa emphasized the importance of adopting a knowledge-based economy and keeping pace with the information revolution, wishing success to all participating inventors.

For her part, the Director of the Economic Relations Department at the Economic Affairs Sector of the General Secretariat of the Arab League, Minister Plenipotentiary Rahab Ezzat El-Din, emphasized in a similar statement the importance of international exhibitions of inventions in supporting innovation and enhancing scientific cooperation between countries, praising the level of organization and the wide participation in this edition of the exhibition. She mentioned that the exhibition includes more than 42 participating countries represented by about 180 inventors, reflecting the scale of creativity and scientific advancement witnessed at this event.


She noted that this participation is the first of its kind for the Arab League, represented by five specialized organizations offering cash prizes to the winning inventors. She stressed the importance of supporting Arab inventors and innovators and encouraging scientific research, expressing her appreciation for the excellent organization of the exhibition. Ezzat El-Din conveyed the greetings of the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, to all participating countries, wishing success to the participating inventors from various countries around the world.
