The Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, emphasized today, Monday, the importance of enhancing partnership among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in the field of tourism innovation and digital transformation in the tourism sector, as well as leveraging modern technologies to attract more visitors to the region. 

This came in a statement made by Minister Al-Mutairi to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following his reception of the UAE Minister of Economy, Abdullah Al Marri, upon his arrival in the country to participate in the ninth meeting of the ministers responsible for tourism in the GCC countries, held in Kuwait.

He praised the "pioneering" model presented by the UAE in tourism development through its leading projects in tourism, cultural tourism, and the organization of global events. He stressed that the exchange of experiences and expertise among GCC countries enhances their competitive capabilities on the global tourism map.

Minister Al-Mutairi highlighted the importance of this meeting in promoting tourism integration among GCC countries, noting that the agenda includes several key topics that contribute to the development of the tourism sector in the GCC states, considering tourism as one of the main drivers of sustainable economic growth.

He expressed his hope that the meeting would result in practical initiatives supporting tourism development in the GCC countries.
