On Thursday, the Ministry of Education concluded the final rounds of the seventh Arabic Schools Debates Championship, organized under the supervision of the Schools Debates Club in collaboration with the General Technical Supervision of Arabic Language and sponsored by the Public Authority for Youth.
In a press statement, the Ministry of Education announced that Al-Awael School, under the private education sector, secured first place in the girls' category, while the Hawalli team came in second. In the boys' category, the Talented Academy School, represented by the Capital team, claimed first place, with the Mubarak Al-Kabeer team taking second place.
The statement quoted the Acting General Technical Supervisor of Arabic Language, Tariq Al-Anzi, emphasizing the Ministry of Education's significant interest in the debates competition, as it has been a pioneering initiative for many years. He noted that this competition contributes to developing students' language and comprehension skills.
Al-Anzi pointed out that all educational districts participated in the championship, with the teams demonstrating exceptional levels and strong competition. He explained that debates help foster a culture of dialogue among youth and encourage them to engage in societal issues.
For her part, Fajr Al-Ghadouri, Head of the Cultural and Social Activities Department at the Public Authority for Youth, stated in the press release that the championship aims to develop the art of debating in Kuwait by encouraging students at all educational levels to participate and raising their awareness of their role in building the future. She added that this competition contributes to preparing young leaders capable of taking responsibility, providing them with opportunities for learning and growth, and equipping them to represent Kuwait in international forums in the best possible manner.
