**The Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila, affirmed on Sunday that caring for people with disabilities is not merely a social responsibility but a national commitment that requires the concerted efforts of all entities to ensure their rights and promote their integration into society.**  

This came in a statement made by Minister Al-Huwaila to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the occasion of the opening of the first introductory forum for disability services under the slogan "Your Care is Our Goal," organized by the Friends of the Disabled team in collaboration with the endowment of (Abdulrazzaq Abdulhamid Al-Sanee), the Integrated Care for People with Disabilities Foundation (ICAN), and the Down Syndrome Mothers’ Voluntary Association.  

Al-Huwaila stated that the forum is an effective step towards exploring the latest technologies to serve people with disabilities through the collaboration of government and private entities and public benefit associations. She added that it also represents a pivotal step in the journey to enhance the rights of people with disabilities and raise societal awareness about the services provided to them.  

She explained that the political leadership of the country, headed by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect and preserve him, places great emphasis on empowering people with disabilities and ensuring their integration into society.  

Al-Huwaila revealed that the exhibition accompanying the forum represents a first step towards enabling people with disabilities to enter the local labor market, as their various products and creations will be marketed. She noted that the forum’s slogan, "Your Care is Our Goal," reflects everyone’s commitment to providing the best services and enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities.  

**In a similar statement to KUNA, the Governor of Ahmadi, Sheikh Hamoud Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, stated that the State of Kuwait places great importance on people with disabilities by providing all their rights and enacting supportive laws to protect them in all aspects of life. He emphasized the country’s commitment to integrating, rehabilitating, and caring for its citizens with disabilities.**  

Sheikh Hamoud Jaber added that this forum is evidence of the capabilities possessed by people with disabilities, enabling them to integrate into society. He noted that the sponsoring and supporting entities, led by the Minister of Social Affairs, the Public Authority for Disability Affairs, public benefit associations, and relevant bodies, are working diligently to empower them and achieve their aspirations.  

**In a similar statement to KUNA, the head of the Friends of the Disabled team, Sheikha Suhaila Al-Sabah, expressed her pride in organizing the forum coinciding with the country’s national celebrations. She emphasized that the forum serves as a bridge for communication between people with disabilities and their families on one side, and the government and private institutions and centers that provide them with various social, educational, legal, psychological, medical, and sports services on the other.**  

Sheikha Suhaila Al-Sabah mentioned that this forum will be the beginning of launching other initiatives aimed at providing more services and care for people with disabilities.  

**For her part, the Deputy Head of the Down Syndrome Mothers’ Voluntary Association, Dr. Khuloud Al-Ali, told KUNA that the forum aims to strengthen the ties between entities providing services to people with disabilities and introduce the educational, rehabilitation, and care institutions that serve this group. This will help connect them with people with disabilities and their families, making it easier to access available services.**  

Al-Ali added that the continuous cooperation between the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Public Authority for Disability Affairs, and educational and rehabilitation institutions enhances the efficiency of the services provided and supports the empowerment of people with disabilities to become active members of society.  

She extended her congratulations to the political leadership on the occasion of Kuwait’s national celebrations, wishing for continued security and stability in the country and for ongoing efforts to support and empower people with disabilities and achieve their aspirations.
