This came in a statement made by Minister Al-Huwaila to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the occasion of the opening of the first introductory forum for disability services under the slogan "Your Care is Our Goal," organized by the Friends of the Disabled team in collaboration with the endowment of (Abdulrazzaq Abdulhamid Al-Sanee), the Integrated Care for People with Disabilities Foundation (ICAN), and the Down Syndrome Mothers’ Voluntary Association.
Al-Huwaila stated that the forum is an effective step towards exploring the latest technologies to serve people with disabilities through the collaboration of government and private entities and public benefit associations. She added that it also represents a pivotal step in the journey to enhance the rights of people with disabilities and raise societal awareness about the services provided to them.
She explained that the political leadership of the country, headed by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect and preserve him, places great emphasis on empowering people with disabilities and ensuring their integration into society.
Al-Huwaila revealed that the exhibition accompanying the forum represents a first step towards enabling people with disabilities to enter the local labor market, as their various products and creations will be marketed. She noted that the forum’s slogan, "Your Care is Our Goal," reflects everyone’s commitment to providing the best services and enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities.
