The Kuwait national modern pentathlon team is participating in the World Cup in Cairo..

The Kuwait national modern pentathlon team will begin its participation tomorrow, Wednesday, in the World Cup for Senior Modern Pentathlon (Open Category), which is currently being held in Cairo and will continue for five days. Nasser Al-Waleed, President of the Kuwait Modern Pentathlon Club and Federation, stated in a declaration to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) today, Tuesday, that the national team will participate in the men's individual event with five players: Abdulaziz Al-Atibi, Mohammed Al-Sahibi, Yousif Buabbas, Bader Al-Sahibi, and Sharaf Al-Ajmi, under the guidance of coaches Captain Arafat Al-Warad and Captain Mohammed Al-Faradi.


Al-Waleed, who heads the delegation, added that this marks the first participation of the players within the program for preparing the Kuwaiti Olympic champion, which is supervised and supported by the Kuwait Olympic Committee in preparation for upcoming major events, including the Youth Olympics - Senegal 2025, the Asian Games Japan 2026, and the Los Angeles Olympics 2028.


He noted that the Kuwait national modern pentathlon team participated in a 10-day international training camp in Cairo and completed its preparations in a local camp in Kuwait for two weeks prior to the tournament. He highlighted that this is the first time Kuwait has participated in modern pentathlon tournaments with such a distinguished number of players.


Al-Waleed expressed his gratitude to the President of the Kuwait Olympic Committee, Sheikh Fahad Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Vice President of the Committee, Sheikh Mubarak Faisal Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and all members of the committee and technical staff for providing all necessary resources, their support, and their continuous efforts to ensure Kuwait's champions participate in international forums in a manner befitting the reputation of Kuwaiti sports.


He also extended his thanks to the Director General of the Public Sports Authority, Bashar Abdullah, for his support of the Kuwait national modern pentathlon team.
