The Kuwaiti Constitutional Court affirms its commitment to enhancing cooperation with Arab constitutional courts and councils..

Member of the Constitutional Court of the State of Kuwait, Counselor Abdulrahman Al-Darmi, emphasized on Wednesday the commitment to enhancing cooperation and fostering relations between the Kuwaiti Constitutional Court and Arab constitutional courts and councils. This came during a speech delivered by Counselor Al-Darmi at the General Assembly meeting of the Union of Arab Constitutional Courts and Councils, held in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi.


He stated that the State of Kuwait "spares no effort" in working to achieve the goals of the Union, including enriching and consolidating constitutional principles and exchanging expertise and knowledge in constitutional judiciary. He praised the Union's dedication to holding the General Assembly regularly since its establishment.


He highlighted the importance of constitutional oversight carried out by constitutional courts and councils, noting that it is a "guarantee of constitutional legitimacy." He also appreciated the congratulations extended by the President of the Union of Arab Constitutional Courts and Councils to the State of Kuwait on the occasion of its national celebrations.


The Kuwaiti delegation, in addition to Counselor Al-Darmi, included Constitutional Court member Counselor Ibrahim Al-Saif and the Director of the Constitutional Court's Secretariat, Essa Al-Bashar.


The meeting discussed the constitutional challenges facing these courts and ways to protect the rights and freedoms of citizens in Arab countries.
