Random memory makers prepare to stop production of DDR3 and DDR4 this year..

It seems that the technical arena is on a date with a major change in the random memory market, as reports indicate that major manufacturers plan to end the production of DDR3 and DDR4 memories sometime in 2025! Such a move will inevitably affect not only the manufacturers, but all the users who still rely on this type.

Why are companies abandoning DDR3 and DDR4 memory?

There is no doubt that the main motivation behind this move is to make higher profits. New memory technologies such as DDR5 and HBM (High Bandwidth Memory) provide larger profit margins, as the market is reshaped to meet the needs of cloud computing and artificial intelligence, sectors that require faster data transfer speeds and greater capabilities.

The three big random memory makers, Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron, are moving to focus entirely on new types.
