The Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations in New York City hosted a reception on the occasion of the 64th National Day and the 34th Liberation Day.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) during the mission's reception on Wednesday evening, Kuwait's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Tariq Al-Bannai, extended his highest congratulations and blessings to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect and bless him, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, may God protect him, on the occasion of the cherished national anniversary.
Al-Bannai stated, "February 26 holds a dear memory for the Kuwaiti people, as it is the day when justice was restored, Kuwait was liberated, and tranquility and reassurance returned to the hearts of all citizens."
He emphasized that the presence of more than 150 permanent representatives to the United Nations at the national holiday celebration reflects "Kuwait's wise and prudent policies, which command respect from all and highlight its esteemed position among nations."
The reception was attended by a large number of UN officials, representatives of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions to the United Nations, as well as social and political figures, business leaders, and Kuwaiti students.
