In a challenge to YouTube, TikTok renews browser viewing experience..

TikTok has announced that it is improving the experience of watching short videos across browsers with a new design that includes an updated and upgraded interface. The update adds options such as full-screen live streaming, as well as a dedicated floating player for PCs.

As part of this update, TikTok has restructured the navigation bar to achieve a more interactive and richer user experience. A fixed sidebar now appears on the left of the screen with key controls, such as the For You page, the Explore section, messages, profile settings, and a live section, along with account suggestions to make it easier to explore content.

What has changed in the TikTok experience?

Compared to the smartphone version, the PC version offers more efficiently organized tools, with most interaction options – such as likes, comments, and sharing – available directly to the right of the video window. The arrangement of interactive tools has also been improved to make browsing easier and smoother.

The platform also added a new feature that allows users to create custom categories to easily save and review videos, a move similar to Instagram's "Groups" feature.

Creators, on the other hand, can now go live via the web version in landscape or portrait mode, which enhances their ability to deliver content that matches viewers' preferences.
