The Central Bank of Kuwait affirms its commitment to empowering women to play an active role in development..

The Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) affirmed on Saturday its commitment to empowering women to play their vital and active role in development, supporting them, and leveraging their capabilities. In a press statement issued on the occasion of International Women's Day, which falls on March 8 each year, the CBK emphasized enhancing women's roles within the bank through numerous initiatives aimed at promoting equality, encouraging female cadres, and preparing them to assume leadership positions in the future.

The statement explained that this is achieved through a series of professional training programs that provide these cadres with a path of continuous development and enable them to work at all functional levels, including leadership and supervisory roles, both within the Central Bank of Kuwait and across the Kuwaiti banking sector as a whole.

It noted that women constitute 59.3% of the total employees at the Central Bank of Kuwait, while holding 54.8% of leadership positions within the bank. The CBK added that this percentage reflects its belief in the competence of national female cadres and their ability to shoulder responsibilities and accomplish tasks in a manner that contributes to the institution's excellence and progress.

The bank also highlighted that, in terms of education and professional development, female employees at the Central Bank of Kuwait have obtained 34.4% of the total professional certifications among bank employees. Additionally, female cadres have benefited from 46.2% of the bank's study missions over the past ten years.

The CBK affirmed that it will continue this approach based on equality in granting opportunities to national talents, empowering female cadres to perform their assigned roles, serving the country from all positions, and actively contributing to the development journey.
