The Qatari club Al-Sadd qualified for the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League Elite football tournament on Monday after defeating the Emirati club Al-Wasl with a score of three goals to one.
In the match held at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in the Qatari capital, Doha, as part of the second leg of the Round of 16, goals for Al-Sadd were scored by Mustafa Tarek, Youssef Aital, and Akram Afif in the 26th, 30th, and 37th minutes, respectively. Meanwhile, Fabio Lima scored the sole goal for Al-Wasl in the 10th minute.
The two teams had drawn 1-1 in the first leg in Dubai, and Al-Sadd advanced to the quarter-finals with an aggregate score of 4-2 over the two legs.
The final stages of the AFC Champions League Elite, starting from the quarter-finals, will be held in a centralized format in the Saudi city of Jeddah.
