The Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila, discussed with the Executive Director of UN Women, Sima Bahous, ways to enhance cooperation in the field of women's empowerment. 

During the meeting, which was held with the UN official on Thursday evening on the sidelines of the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, Minister Al-Huwaila praised the strong bilateral relations between the State of Kuwait and the United Nations. 

Al-Huwaila emphasized Kuwait's commitment to achieving gender equality and highlighted the country's national achievements in the field of women's empowerment, including its high rankings in international reports and the establishment of the National Committee for the Implementation of UN Security Council Resolution (1325). 

For her part, Bahous expressed her aspiration to strengthen cooperation with the State of Kuwait. The two sides agreed to establish partnerships and training programs supporting women in various fields. 

The UN official praised Kuwait's role in the Commission on the Status of Women, as well as its efforts to reach a consensus on the political declaration document issued following the 69th session of the Commission.
